Moor
Living on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, moorland is the dominant wild landscape archetype of our region. Although lacking the obvious drama of the Scottish Highlands or the Lake District these Moors still create brilliant viewpoints and details through their combination of windswept plateaus and deep valleys (dales). I used to feel that if you could take good photos on the Moors you should find anywhere more spectacular to be easy… But such an attitude is to underestimate the inherent drama, atmosphere and beauty of this moorland terrain. Moorland habitats can be found all over the north of Britain. This selection also includes examples from Scotland and the Lake District.
